Interpretation guide
| Phase | Saturn’s position | Classical theme |
|---|---|---|
| Rising (1st) | 12th from Moon | Expenses rise, groundwork shifts |
| Peak (2nd) | Over the Moon sign | Health/mind pressure — the famous middle phase |
| Setting (3rd) | 2nd from Moon | Finances and family matters tested, then release |
| Not active | Elsewhere | Check Dhaiya — the smaller 4th/8th transit |
| Active + strong natal Saturn | Discipline pays; many careers are built in Sade Sati |
Formula & methodology
Formula: Sade Sati = Saturn transiting the 12th, 1st and 2nd signs from the natal Moon (≈7.5 years; three 2.5-year phases)
- Enter your birth details — the calculator finds your natal Moon sign (sidereal).
- It computes Saturn’s current sidereal sign for today.
- If Saturn stands in the 12th, 1st or 2nd from your Moon, Sade Sati is active and the phase is named.
- Otherwise it checks the 4th/8th positions for the smaller Dhaiya panoti.
Worked example — Moon sign Kumbha (born 1 Jan 1990): on 10 Jun 2026 Saturn transits Meena — the 2nd from Kumbha, so Sade Sati is in its final “setting” phase, ending when Saturn leaves Meena (mid-2027). Meena-Moon natives are simultaneously in their peak phase.
