Formula & methodology
Formula: Molarity = moles / liters; moles = mass / molar mass; dilution: C1 V1 = C2 V2
Molarity expresses concentration as moles of solute per liter of solution. The calculator links mass, molar mass, moles, volume, and molarity, so you can solve for whichever value you're missing. For dilutions it uses C1V1 = C2V2 to find the volume of stock or solvent needed. Convert grams to moles with the molar mass first, then divide by the solution volume in liters.
