apps Small jobs, done in one click

Everyday calculators are the workshop drawer of the site — quick utilities for the moments when you need a number now and a phone calculator won't cut it. Age, date difference, GPA, fuel cost, time-to-decimal, password strength — pick a tool and you're one click from your answer.

speed Loads in under a second

Every tool is plain HTML + JavaScript with the calculation logic compiled in. No spinner, no "verifying browser" splash, no five-second wait while ads load. Hit the page, fill the form, get the answer. Slow tools waste your time and ours.

devices Works on every device

Responsive design tested down to a 320px-wide phone screen. The input fields use native number/date keyboards on iOS and Android, the calculate button is thumb-sized, and the result still reads big and bold on the smallest screen. No app to download, ever.

sentiment_satisfied No funny business

No newsletter pop-ups, no "create an account to see the answer", no fake countdown, no fake stock counter, no upsell. Two ad slots per page (clearly labelled as Advertisement) keep the site free — that's the whole business model.

Interpretation guide

OutputWhat it tells you
Tiles neededWhole tiles to buy, including waste, rounded up.
Waste %Extra for cuts, breakage and future repairs (10% typical).
TipBuy a few spare tiles from the same batch for colour match.

Formula & methodology

Formula: Tiles = area × (1 + waste%) ÷ tile size, rounded up

Tile quantity is the area to cover divided by each tile's coverage, with a waste allowance for cuts and breakage, then rounded up to whole tiles.

  1. Enter the total area to tile in square feet.
  2. Enter the coverage of one tile in square feet.
  3. Enter a waste percentage (10% is standard, more for diagonal layouts).
  4. The calculator divides area by tile size, adds waste and rounds up.

Worked example: 120 sq ft with 1 sq ft tiles and 10% waste = 132 tiles.

Frequently asked questions

How many tiles do I need?
Divide the area by each tile's coverage, then add a waste allowance and round up. 120 sq ft of 1 sq ft tiles at 10% waste needs 132 tiles.
How much waste should I allow?
Allow about 10% for straight layouts and 15–20% for diagonal or patterned layouts and rooms with many cuts.
Should I buy extra tiles?
Yes — buy a few spares from the same batch so future repairs match the colour and size exactly.
How do I find the area to tile?
Multiply the length by the width of the surface in feet. For walls, add the areas of each section together.
Is it free and private to use?
Yes — it is 100% free, needs no sign-up, and every calculation runs in your browser, so your inputs are never uploaded or stored.
