Calculations use 64-bit floating point with sensible rounding for the domain (currency to 2 decimals, percentages to 4 decimals, algebra to 6 significant figures). Where exact rational arithmetic matters — fractions, factorials, simplification — we use a dedicated BigNumber path so 1/3 + 1/6 returns ½, not 0.49999.

lightbulb A real-world example — adding 1/3 + 2/5
Result: 1/3 + 2/5 = 11/15 (improper form). As a decimal: 0.7333… (repeating).
What this means: We compute by finding the LCM of the denominators (3 and 5 → 15), then rewriting each fraction: 1/3 = 5/15 and 2/5 = 6/15. Adding: 5/15 + 6/15 = 11/15. This calculator returns exact rational results (no floating-point error), so you can chain operations without rounding drift.

Fraction arithmetic is easiest after reducing inputs and finding a common denominator for addition or subtraction. Final answers should be simplified by dividing numerator and denominator by their greatest common factor.
