Formula & methodology
Formula: Remaining = (1 Jan 00:00 in zone) − now, split into d:h:m:s
- Choose a target year (defaults to the next New Year) and optionally a time zone.
- The calculator computes time to midnight, 1 January, in that zone.
- Days, hours, minutes and seconds tick live, with the target weekday shown.
Worked example — 10 June 2026: 205 days to 1 January 2027, which lands on a Friday; Auckland reaches it 18 hours before New York.
